A First Look at EPA’s RFS2 Proposal for 2023-2025

On Dec. 1, 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a notice of proposed rulemaking (known officially as a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking or NPRM) to set Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS2) volumes and percentage standards for 2023, 2024, and 2025, as well as to propose other modifications to the program – namely to approve the use of renewable electricity for purposes of Renewable Identification Number (RIN) generation (also known eRINs).
